While console streaming is far more convenient, you do have the option to stream online using a capture card. While it may not be easy to set up, a capture card offers numerous options lacking in console streaming. For instance, with a capture card, you can add overlays to your streams, customized your webcam, and have greater control over your broadcast settings.

A capture card works because it takes data from your console that would typically be sent to your TV, instead of being used with your PC. With your games being streamed to your PC, you can use third-party software for greater control over your online broadcasts. Most importantly, by taking this route, you will reduce CPU overhead on your console since it will not stream and render simultaneously.

You will have better high-quality streams by streaming games from your console to your PC, but only as long as your video settings are adjusted properly.

You now have everything you need to know about streaming gameplay online on a PS4 or Xbox One. Make the most of this information to up your online streaming game like never before. If you face issues like ISP throttling or low bandwidth, you should consider using an online streaming VPN to solve these issues for good.
